Transfer Curves

Adobe Photoshop allows users to make adjustments to control the reproduction tone behavior when an image is printed. These settings are made using Photoshop's Transfer Curve settings in the . We do not recommend using the transfer curve because the original image is not manipulated, rather the output of that image is manipulated, and this can cause unpredictable results when processing the image.

Our recommendation is to remove these functions from all images. The transfer Function settings can be found under the "Page Setup. . ." menu in Photoshop 5, and the "Print with Preview. . ." selection in Photoshop 7.
